Green Freight Program - Decarbonization

Advantage Waste Systems is well-positioned to lead by example in transitioning away from diesel fuel. Our fleet operates in sectors where electrification faces technical and economic limitations, particularly in heavy-duty, stop-and-go municipal waste collection. Switching to CNG provides an immediately deployable, lower-emission solution with the flexibility to blend RNG as supply and infrastructure become more accessible.

Recent municipal waste collection tenders across Ontario have increasingly identified CNG and RNG as cost-effective and reliable decarbonization pathways. This reinforces the relevance and urgency of initiatives like those being pursued by Advantage Waste Systems, which not only align with local procurement trends but also help scale the market for clean fuels.

Enbridge Gas is committed to supporting this transition. They offer CNG fueling infrastructure, technical support, and guidance to fleets exploring low-carbon alternatives. We are pleased to continue collaborating with Enbridge on fueling strategy, site planning, and our future RNG integration as the market evolves.

Circular Economy Initiative - Refabrication of Old Waste Equipment

Our refabricating program involves onsite welding and container building facilities dedicated to the renovation of old containers, compactors, and machines. Our circular process aims to reduce waste and extend the life of existing equipment by repurposing materials that would otherwise be discarded. By refurbishing old equipment, we lessen the demand for new manufacturing, thereby conserving resources, utilities, and labour, promoting continuous repurposing.

 

Future Goals and Expansion

Looking ahead, Advantage Waste is focused on expanding its eco-friendly initiatives and enhancing its service offerings while upgrading our collection fleet to Zero emissions.
